So Guy has gone to conduct a wedding in south central Florida and I've had the boys this weekend.  They are so high energy that I had to get them out of the house soooo, I took them to their first movie!    I tried it last night and we sat through the first couple of minutes of G-Force.  I quickly realized it wasn't something they'd be remotely interested in and brought them home.  Tonight I took them back and we watched Ice Age 3.  They LOVE the Ice Age movies.  They call the first one "Baby Sloth" and the second "Water Sloth".  The new one they are calling "New Manny".  I was anxious how they would do with the length of being there, but they were great!  Brady was of course dancing in the aisles and yelling at the movie at points, but it was perfect.    I think this might be our new thing.  They are now sleeping peacefully and bed time came and went with no arguing.  I'll take it!

Tomorrow we go to a nursing home after church to do a praise meeting for one of our soldiers who is in the home.  She is the oldest and longest enrolled soldier from our corps and she absolutely loves the Army.  It took us a while to find her so now we need to make sure that she knows she is still loved and respected.  Her name is Rosey Blackmon and she is about 80 pounds of fire.

I go next week back to camp again.  So far since we've been here, I've made at least one trip per month up to camp.  I think it is time for Guy to go.    It is a business conference this time and it is supposed to be seriously cold up there.  Problem is - I haven't unpacked my winter clothes and have no idea where they even are.  I refused to unpack the tubs unless Guy brought them into the house for me, and he refused to help.  So, all of our stuff is still out in the garage waiting for me.    I'm not going to do it all by myself though, so there it is.  I guess it just means I'll have to buy some new clothes.  lol...  I'll take that...

Enough though.  Take care all and love ya.

So we are settled down in our new appointment - though at this point, it isn't really all that new.    We've been here since the end of June!  We are in the midst of crazy Christmas already - applications for Angel Tree are almost over - just one more week!  The boys are in their room right now giggling and laughing and screaming alternately while Baby Einstein Beethoven plays in the background.  The Bulls (USF) are on TV and Guy is checking on the laundry.  It's all good.

We love our new corps.  It has a lot of debt - A LOT of debt - but the people are amazing.  So sweet and really wanting to jump in and take ownership of their church.  The board is also great and they are helping us handle the issues well.  The town is totally charming with an old, historic downtown and it is just big enough for us to have everything we need.  I took my first two cake classes in August and September and can now make my own icing, flowers and designs.    I feel so accomplished!  lol...

The rest of the family is doing well also.  Mom and dad just bought their retirement home in Homasassa, Florida - just between Tampa and Ocala.  It sits on the 3rd hole of a golf course and has an "indoor" pool.  We can't wait to go down for Christmas.  I'm so excited for them.

Other than that, we're just taking it one day at a time.  Chugging along.  Enough for now.  Take care and love ya.

Progress

So we've made progress.    We have packed almost all the house.  Basically, we need to wrap all the wall pictures, pack up the boys toys (last minute), and then pack the stuff we are using on a regular basis (DVD player, clocks, etc.).  That is just so relieving for us!  Guy has headed down to Dallas to meet his son and they will both come back here to Ada tomorrow.  Matthew will stay with us until the end of the summer (end of July) and we are hoping he'll choose to come and stay with us after that.  He is 14 now so he is allowed to make that choice himself.  We've got the brief done and our offices packed as well.  Guy will drive our truck with Matthew leaving on Father's Day and I will take the boys and our cat to Dallas to fly to Tampa.  Mom and dad will meet me there and a couple of days later, we will head up to Valdosta where we will meet Guy at the end of his journey.  I still can't believe that it is cheaper to fly than it is to rent a car and drive...  Go figure right?  So, being the frugal individuals we have learned to be, we are flying.  Gotta save it where you can.

I'm trying to figure out when in the world we'll be able to take vacation!  We are scheduled with a day camp at our corps all the way through July.  So, July is out.  BUT, starting in August and through October, it seems like a ton of things are planned divisionally in Georgia.  We may have to lose a week or two again this year.  I hope not, but we'll definitely try our hardest to get it all in!

It is late and Braden is sick with an ear infection so I'd better get to bed and take what little sleep he is going to allow me to have tonight.  Take care all and love ya!

One of my fav songs... Have you heard it?

So this is one of my oldest, most favorite songs in the whole world.    I really honestly think it is one of the first songs I ever remember hearing.  Read it through - you'll love it too...

YOU'RE SO SWEET, HORSEFLIES KEEP HANGIN' 'ROUND YOUR FACE
Album : Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
Neil Diamond - 1969

You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
And I guess it shows.

Mary Lou Jane (oh Mary Lou Jane)
Oh what a fine name (what a fine name)
And you're nothing like them females
From Dover City
(nothin' at all)
Front teeth missin'
(hee, you got your front teeth missin')
And that's fine for kissin' (oh, feels so good)
You're more loyal than my dog Sam,
And twice as pretty (and that's goin' some)

You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
and I guess it shows.

I can't forget (oh, no)
When we first met (first)
Well, it was bull wrestling time
At the county fair rodeo
(or is it ro-de-o)
And I almost cried (wept)
When you took first prize
(first prize, sweetheart)
Well,
You just looked them critters in the face
And down they'd go
(they never had a chance)

You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
and I guess it shows.

You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
And I guess it shows

Transferred

So Guy and I are being transferred again!    We are headed back east this time - back home.  We'll be moving to Valdosta, GA at the end of June and really couldn't be happier.  I'll be 3 1/2 hours from my doctor - the big thing and then also as a bonus, 3 1/2 hours from my parents (Atlanta), 4 hours from my sister (Brandon FL), 4 hours from my grandmother (Clearwater FL) and 3 1/2 hours from Orlando and Disney!    From what we understand, it will be another challenging appointment with some specific goals, but we'll know more as it gets closer.  It's all good.

Guy is at Man Camp this weekend so I'll have the boys to myself for the next few days.  Brady was up at 5:45 this morning - it was crazy - and then tonight he fought sleep with everything he had in him.  Poor thing - no idea what's going on.  They have school pics tomorrow so I went and got their hair cut tonight and they were so good.  Brady was a little afraid of it all and whimpered through the last 3-4 minutes of it, but Anthony thought it was cool and chatted and all through it all.  I took them to McD's afterwards to reward them for the good behavior and they were talking to everyone who walked up.  So cute.

They saw the owls again.  In the kitchen this time.  I got it on video and will upload it tomorrow.  Not sure what to say about all that!

Enough though.  Sleepy time.    Take care all and love ya.
